Karang Intan – The Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held its second Entrepreneurship Class in Karang Intan Village. Themed “Successful Digital Transformation, Together for Successful Entrepreneurs,” the event was attended by young men and women, as well as local MSMEs.
Unlike previous classes, this one featured a collaboration with Wetland Box Hasnur Center, an MSME development center under the auspices of Hasnur Center. This collaboration aims to strengthen the community’s skills in recognizing, managing, and developing micro, small, and medium enterprises through digital marketing strategies.
The main topic was presented by Hizrian Fariz Zhaviery, S.E., Marketing & Branding Manager of Wetland Box Hasnur Center. In his presentation, he emphasized the importance of digitalization to make MSMEs more adaptive and competitive.
“Utilizing digital technology will help small businesses become more innovative, while opening up broader market opportunities,” he said.
The class session included not only presentations but also Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). Participants were divided into small groups to identify potential village businesses, design marketing strategies, and present the results of their discussions.
To measure the effectiveness of the learning, the committee conducted pre- and post-tests. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants’ understanding of digital-based entrepreneurship concepts.
The activity concluded with a group documentation session as a symbol of togetherness and a spirit of collaboration. Through this class, ULM hopes that the Karang Intan Village community will be able to develop MSMEs in a more modern and sustainable manner, enabling them to compete at the local and national levels.
