Habibie Abiyyu and M. Rysal Al Fayruz Achieve Excellence at the 2025 South Kalimantan Regional Sports Festival
Banjarmasin – Students from the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) once again achieved outstanding achievements at the 7th South Kalimantan Regional Community Sports Festival (FORDA) 2025, held from May 22–25, 2025, in Banjarmasin City. Thousands of participants from various regencies/cities in South Kalimantan participated in the competition, featuring recreational sports as part of the selection process for the 8th National Sports Festival (FORNAS), to be held in West Nusa Tenggara, July–August 2025.
The two sports that successfully brought ULM to the podium were karate and orienteering.
In karate, Mechanical Engineering student Muhammad Naufal Humaidi (2410816110008) won first and second place in the Individual Committee category in different age classes.
Meanwhile, in the Orienteering category, two ULM Faculty of Engineering students achieved impressive achievements:
- Muhammad Habibie Abiyyu (2310811210032) – Civil Engineering
- Muhammad Rysal Al Fayruz (2310812310021) – Architecture
Both students won first and second place in two categories: Man Sprint Orienteering and Man Maze Orienteering.
This achievement demonstrates that ULM students excel not only academically but also in non-academic activities that support character development, health, and competitiveness at the regional and national levels.
The success of ULM’s young athletes in FORDA VII underscores the university’s active role in fostering student interests and talents. They will next compete to represent South Kalimantan on the national stage at FORNAS VIII.
The university expresses its appreciation and full support to the students who have brought honor to the university and hopes they will achieve even greater success at the national level.
