ULM and Datamine Software Indonesia Collaborate to Improve Mining Engineering Human Resources Competence
Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), through its Faculty of Engineering, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement (MoA) with Datamine Software Indonesia on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the ULM Faculty of Engineering in Banjarbaru.
This collaboration aims to support the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through licensing and training in Datamine software, specifically to improve competency in the field of mining engineering.
The signing was conducted by ULM’s Vice Rector for Cooperation, Public Relations, and Information Systems, Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc., Dean of the ULM Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Iphan Fitrian Radam, S.T., M.T., IPU, and Datamine Software Indonesia Director, Bambang Ady Wibowo. This collaboration is expected to encourage students and lecturers to master industry-based technologies, particularly software used in mining exploration and management.
“This collaboration is a strategic step to prepare ULM Faculty of Engineering graduates to be better prepared for the world of work, particularly in the ever-growing mining sector,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Iphan Fitrian Radam.
Meanwhile, Bambang Ady Wibowo, Director of Datamine Software Indonesia, emphasized that his institution is committed to providing support in the form of Datamine software licenses, technical training, and coaching so that ULM can continue to develop innovations in the mining sector.
“We hope that students graduating from ULM will gain additional knowledge and skills ready for use in the world of work. Furthermore, Datamine is not only about mining engineering, but also covers geology, the environment, and geostatistics. We are also developing the field of AI (Artificial Intelligence),” said Bambang.
This collaboration not only strengthens the quality of education at ULM but also opens up opportunities for research and technological development relevant to industry needs. With Datamine’s support, ULM is expected to produce superior and competent human resources in the mining sector, in line with the university’s vision of increasing competitiveness at the national and international levels.
