ULM and Unhas Strengthen International Academic and Research Cooperation

Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) received a visit from the Chancellor of Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Makassar on Wednesday (1/1/2025). The visit was in the context of mentoring the Higher Education Institution Accreditation (AIPT) as well as strengthening national and international research cooperation.

This activity took place at the Galaxy Hotel and was attended by ULM leaders, including the Vice Rector, Dean, Director of Postgraduate Programs, Head of Institutions, and Head of Bureaus. The Rector of ULM, Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc., on this occasion directly welcomed the presence of the Rector of Unhas, who also provided support in improving the academic quality of ULM.

The main purpose of the visit was AIPT mentoring to ensure that ULM again achieved superior accreditation. The Rector of ULM expressed his confidence in this achievement.

“Our SK is just waiting for the certificate. The value has met the requirements. Based on the portfolio that has been compiled, we are optimistic that ULM can achieve superior accreditation,” he said.

In addition, the visit also discussed plans to strengthen research cooperation covering national and international scales. International research cooperation is ULM’s focus to expand its network and increase global academic contributions.

“We need reinforcement from Unhas regarding international research cooperation. Currently, ULM has only established 16 collaborations with countries such as America, Japan, Korea, Germany, Australia, and Saudi Arabia,” explained Prof. Ahmad.

This assistance is expected to not only help ULM achieve superior accreditation, but also expand the scope of strategic international research. This will open up opportunities for collaboration with more global universities and support ULM’s vision as a competitive educational institution in the international arena.

ULM and Unhas agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation in various fields, from academic development to collaborative research. This collaboration is a real step by both universities to create innovation and improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia.
