The Central Information Commission again held a 2023 Public Information Disclosure Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev KIP) socialization which was held at the Laberta Hotel, Kampar Riau Province, Wednesday (17/05/2023). As in previous years, this Monev is intended to assess the extent to which public bodies, particularly state public bodies, carry out their obligations to provide information services to the public.

“Oftentimes the public as information seekers still have difficulty getting information from Public Bodies, for example, regarding documents for the procurement of goods and services. In fact, for example, in the Information Commission’s Monev and Information Commission, the qualification is ‘informative’,” Deputy Chairperson of the Central Information Commission, Arya Sandhiyudha, explained.

In another case, he added, a request for information that should have been open information but due to a misunderstanding and handling it became the object of an information dispute. “It often happens that in the process of resolving information disputes, there are inconsistencies between information service officers or PPIDs. Requests for information that should be completed at the PPID level are handled by the Central Information Commission,” he said.

Therefore, in the 2023 National Information Openness Monev, the Central and Provincial Information Commission will pay attention to the above aspects. “Later in the assessment method, these three aspects, namely the quality of information, understanding of information services and the diversity of information with the procurement of goods and services in it, will have the highest value weight,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner for KI Institutional Affairs at the Handoko AS Center stated that in general the 2023 National Information Disclosure Monitoring and Evaluation activities would conduct an assessment of aspects of information quality, type of information, information services, facilities and infrastructure, organizational commitment and digitalization. It was stated that at the Central level, there will be approximately 400 Public Bodies that will become the object of Monev including ministries, provincial governments, BUMN, non-structural state institutions and also State Universities. “And for Monev at the provincial level, it adjusts to the priority agenda of each Provincial Information Commission,” he said.
