BKGN 2025 Officially Opened, a Collaboration Between the Faculty of Dentistry, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) and the Gusti Hasan Aman Dental Hospital
Banjarmasin — A series of activities for the 2025 National Dental Health Month (BKGN) officially opened at the Gusti Hasan Aman Dental Hospital (RSGM), Banjarmasin, on Tuesday (12/16/2025). The opening ceremony was officiated by the Governor of South Kalimantan, H. Muhidin, represented by the Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, Dr. Diauddin.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the Acting Director of the Gusti Hasan Aman Dental Hospital, South Kalimantan, Drg. Mashuda, M.Kes., the Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Dentistry, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Drg. Isnur Hatta, and representatives from Unilever. Several representatives from hospitals in South Kalimantan were also in attendance, including Sultan Suriansyah Hospital, Ulin Regional Hospital, and Sambang Lihum Mental Hospital.
The opening ceremony took place in the 5th-floor Hall of the Gusti Hasan Aman Dental Hospital Service Building. As part of the 2025 National Dental Health Month (BKGN), the Faculty of Dentistry, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), and the Gusti Hasan Aman Dental Hospital (RSGM), are conducting community service activities, providing dental and oral health education, and providing free dental check-ups and treatments for the community.
Acting Director of the Gusti Hasan Aman Dental Hospital in South Kalimantan, Drg. Mashuda, M.Kes., stated that the BKGN is expected to bring dental health services closer to the community.
“We hope that through this National Dental Health Month, dental health services can reach the community more easily. The Gusti Hasan Aman Dental Hospital provides free consultations and free procedures such as tartar cleaning, simple fillings, simple tooth extractions, tooth extractions for children, and efforts to prevent dental and oral diseases from an early age,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, Dr. Diauddin, stated that the BKGN is an important opportunity to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining dental and oral health as part of overall health. He believes that promotive and preventive efforts need to be continuously strengthened to reduce the number of dental and oral diseases in South Kalimantan.
The Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, ULM, Prof. Dr. Drg. Maharani Laillyza Apriasari, Sp.PM., stated that this activity will run until December 18, 2025.
“Come on, people of Banjarmasin and the surrounding area, please come for a dental checkup to stay healthy and happy,” she said in a promotional video uploaded to the FKG ULM Instagram account.
Through the implementation of the 2025 BKGN, it is hoped that synergy between the local government, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and private partners can continue to be strengthened in supporting the improvement of the dental and oral health of the people of South Kalimantan.
