4,000 Teachers Participate in PPG at FKIP ULM: Commitment to Quality Education

Banjarmasin, July 3, 2025 — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the improvement of the quality of national education, not only through its undergraduate programs, which have all been accredited with Unggul (Excellent) accreditation, but also through its strategic role in the implementation of Teacher Professional Education (PPG).

As of mid-2025, FKIP ULM had become the PPG implementation center for approximately 4,000 teachers registered in the Phase I PPG Program for Certain Teachers. This program is a government initiative to improve teacher professionalism, especially for those who do not yet have a Teacher Certificate. Through this program, teachers are equipped with the pedagogical, professional, social, and personality competencies needed to become qualified and competitive educators.

The Dean of FKIP ULM, Prof. Sunarno Basuki, emphasized that FKIP ULM is fully committed to supporting equitable national education.

“We remain committed to supporting the government’s program to ensure equitable education for school-age children by developing professional teacher resources,” he said.

As one of the leading Teacher Training Institutions (LPTK) in Kalimantan, FKIP ULM is not only a place of learning but also a driving force for educational transformation. Through the implementation of the PPG (Program Pengajar Guru/School Teacher Training Program), FKIP ULM strengthens the capacity of teachers in the regions, bridges the gap in education quality between regions, and contributes directly to improving the quality of national education.

FKIP ULM’s active role in the PPG program also reflects the synergy between higher education institutions and government policies in creating an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable education ecosystem.
