ULM Academics Actively Involved in Public Testing of Regional Regulation Draft on Regional Legal Products of South Kalimantan DPRD
Banjarmasin — The Faculty of Law of Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) hosted a public test activity for the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) on Guidelines for Regional Legal Products organized by the Special Committee (Pansus) I of the South Kalimantan (Kalsel) DPRD, Monday (3/24/2025).
The Chairperson of Pansus I of the South Kalimantan DPRD, M Syaripuddin, emphasized that the involvement of academics is very important in the preparation of this Raperda, in order to produce regulations that are more applicable and in accordance with legal needs in the region.
“Through this public test, we hope to get constructive suggestions and criticisms from academics to strengthen the substance of the regulations we are discussing,” he explained.
The Dean of the ULM Faculty of Law, Achmad Faishal, welcomed the collaboration. According to him, the openness of the South Kalimantan DPRD in receiving input from the academic community shows a commitment to producing quality legal products.
“We appreciate the openness of the South Kalimantan DPRD in listening to the views of academics. Hopefully, the resulting regulations can have a real impact on society, not just regulations on paper,” said Achmad Faishal.
The public test activity took place dynamically with the active participation of members of the South Kalimantan DPRD Special Committee, lecturers and students of the ULM Faculty of Law, and representatives from the Legal Bureau of the South Kalimantan Provincial Secretariat. Various inputs were conveyed, ranging from technical drafting to the mechanism for monitoring legal products so that they can be implemented effectively.
With this public test, it is hoped that the Draft Regional Regulation on Guidelines for Regional Legal Products can be prepared comprehensively, while strengthening the synergy between the legislature and academics in supporting the development of regional law that is responsive to the needs of the community.
