Bachelor of Psychology student from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Abdul Muiz, along with 3 other delegates Siti Khusnul Azizah, Muhammad Zulfa Hafizh and Nita Aulia as representatives of the Putera Puteri Campus of South Kalimantan Province in the series of selection events for the Putera Puteri Campus Indonesia (PPKI ) 2024 which will be held for 3 days (01-03 March 2024).
The ULM delegation succeeded in making the name of the alma mater and the Province of South Kalimantan proud and maintained the title previously held by Psychology student from the Faculty of Medicine, ULM Class of 2021, Muhammad Raihan, by winning 2nd Runner Up for Men on Campus in Indonesia. Friday (01/03) was the first day to take part in quarantine activities. Starting with a sashing ceremony and continuing with a catwalk class by special guests. Various requirements for carrying out pre-eliminary activities were prepared, starting from the talent show and continuing with national costumes, as well as preparations for deep interviews and simultaneously opening dance practice for maximum performance.
The second day of quarantine, Saturday (02/03), the finalists of Putera Puteri Kampus Indonesia 2024 visited Madiun City, namely to the Kresek Monument and Madiun batik makers, followed by a gala dinner using ethnic wear. Apart from that, Muiz had the opportunity to do a fashion show using Ethnic Wear at the ongoing festival in Madiun City after holding a gala dinner. “I didn’t expect to get the top 3 because it was my second time joining the embassy, the first time I joined the embassy at Pemikat x Duta FKIK ULM and didn’t get any title, but it was used as encouragement to continue improving my capacity, proven by me being able to enter the top 3 while I was still undergoing semester 2. The main assessment in quarantine is that you have to be on point from posture, always smiling, PD but friendly, blending into the existing social environment, and with performance like during pre-eliminary (talent show, national costume, ethnic wear/gala dinner), also during the grand final (catwalk, speech competition at top 9, final look at top 6, QNA at top 3) which supported the assessment in quarantine, I was entrusted as Runner Up 2 (3rd Place) as well as Best Social Media at the embassy event national level for Putera Puteri Campus Indonesia 2024”. Muiz concluded.
With the end of this year’s activities, Muiz hopes that ULM students can take part in the Campus Putera Puteri competition in the coming year. “Certainly the pageant is a role model, so firstly, of course, with me, who is still a new student but can bring a “trophy” at the national embassy event, it is hoped that it can be a motivation for my friends, both in the class, study program, faculty, university and “all friends in South Kalimantan Province, to make people aware that failure is a process leading to victory,” he concluded.
In this event, 3 other delegates also achieved achievements in the form of Runner Up 5 as well as Puteri Kampus Indonesia Best Vlog achieved by Nita Aulia, Best Evening Gown achieved by Siti Khusnul Azizah and Best Video Profile achieved by M Zulfa Hafizh. This achievement cannot be separated from the support of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government, guidance carried out by the Regional Director of Putera Puteri, South Kalimantan Campus in collaboration with the Student and Alumni Potential Development Unit of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences led by lecturers in Psychology, Public Health and Nursing, as well as all parties who sponsors the activity.
