The ULM Sexual Harassment Prevention and Handling Task Force (PPKS) Wins an Award from the Ministry of Education and Culture

Yogyakarta – The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) gave as many as 57 awards to a number of tertiary institutions at the “Moon of Freedom to Learn Commemoration Peak” event at the Trimurti Building, Prambanan on Monday (29/5/23). This award is given to campuses with the best achievements in the implementation of Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) both academically and vocationally, the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) Lecture program, Affirmation of Higher Education (ADIK), and the Task Force for Prevention and Handling of Sexual Harassment  (Satgas PPKS).

Chancellor of the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E., M.Sc attended directly to receive an award in the category of Academic Higher Education for the Sub-category of the Task Force on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Harassment  which was given to ULM. He seemed enthusiastic about receiving the award and taking pictures with all university representatives.

Lambung Mangkurat University is committed to preventing and handling all forms of sexual harassment  that occur on the ULM campus by forming the ULM PPKS (Prevention and Handling of Sexual Harassment ) task force. Head of PPKS Task Force Lena Hanifah, S.H. LL.M.,Ph.D. would like to express our deepest gratitude to the ULM Leadership and Academic Community for their support in realizing ULM as a campus that is free from sexual harassment.

The ULM PPKS Task Force receives and handles reports of sexual harassment  that come through the website https://satgas-ppks.ulm.ac.id/ or via the hotline at +6281256226946. The confidentiality of the reporter’s identity is also a guarantee given by the ULM PPKS Task Force to make the reporter feel safe and comfortable. Not only that, they will also provide assistance to rapporteurs according to the duties and functions that have been regulated in the Ministry of Education and Culture and Higher Education regarding PPKS.

Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Nadiem Anwar Makarim expressed his enthusiasm for the contribution and collaboration built by higher education institutions which continue to develop the Merdeka campus program. “Currently, more than 470 thousand students have had the opportunity to study and work outside the campus,” he said. Plt. Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Prof. Nizam added that this award was one of the efforts to create a better higher education. “Hopefully this award will be an encouragement, and be able to become a good practice for higher education managers and people in an effort to create a golden generation for advanced Indonesia,” said Nizam.

This award was held in a series of commemorations of National Education Day, which began with the Freedom to Learn Carnival with the theme “Moving Together, Enlivening Freedom of Learning” and closed with an art performance on the Ramayana stage, Prambanan Temple area.
