Inauguration and Taking of the 18th NERS Professional Oath of FK ULM

Banjarbaru – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a University Open Senate Session with the agenda for the Inauguration of Nurse Profession class 18 ULM Faculty of Medicine on Thursday (25/5/2023) in the Hall of FK ULM Banjarbaru. As many as 30 people were inaugurated as nurses based on the ULM Rector’s Decree Number 523/UN8/SP/2023 concerning Student Graduation for the Nursing Education and Profession Program at FK ULM.

The oath-taking and inauguration were carried out directly by ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., witnessed by the Dean of the ULM Medical Faculty, Chair of the ULM Medical Faculty Senate, as well as representatives of the Director of the Ulin Hospital in Banjarmasin and representatives of the Head of the South Kalimantan Provincial Health Office.

Dean of FK ULM, Dr. dr. Istiana, M.Kes conveyed, at this inauguration, among the 30 inaugurated nurses, 15 of them won a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.00 with a total percentage of passing the competency test for nurses of 97%.

Deputy Director of Human Resources at Ulin Hospital, Thaufik Hidayat, S.Sos., who was present representing the Director of Ulin Hospital, congratulated the newly appointed nurses. He also advised that later when working as a nurse, it is important to pay attention to ethics and maintain public trust in health services as well.

“In the current era of information openness, society is becoming increasingly critical so that health workers must be more patient and painstaking in providing health services, from providing information to taking action,” he said.

RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin itself has become a partner of ULM FK in carrying out teaching and practicum for prospective nurses who study at ULM FK.

ULM Rector, Prof. Dr. At this moment, Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., had the opportunity to deliver remarks as well as advice to new nurses. Taking the oath and inauguration is the end point of the struggle to complete professional education at ULM Faculty of Medicine, but also the starting point of their struggle to face much tougher challenges.

“The challenge you will face is when you return to society, of course you have to prepare yourself to be more competitive where you will face many competitors in fighting for jobs,” he said.

The Rector also advised alumni not to stop being students.

“You have to try to cultivate how to keep learning even though you have left campus and become alumni,” said the Chancellor.

To support the alumni’s enthusiasm for learning, the Rector also said that ULM provides scholarships in the form of discounted tuition fees for outstanding alumni. For the best alumni with a perfect score of 4.00, tuition fees will be waived for 1 semester, and the following semester will receive a 50% discount.

“Ners who are sworn in today, maintain ULM’s good name in society. Your responsibilities are like sunshine in society. Set an example in social life when you return and serve the community, nation and country,” he said.
