Implementation of UTBK SNBT First Day of ULM Officially Begins

BANJARMASIN — The 2023 Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK)-Test-Based National Selection (SNBT) at the University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, went smoothly despite server disruptions on the first day. On Monday (8/5/2023), some of the participants who took the test ended late at night due to connection problems with the UTBK-SNBT central committee server.

In connection with the occurrence of problems on the first day of carrying out the Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) Test-Based National Selection (SNBT), Monday (8/5/2023), Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Iwan Aflainie, dr., M.Kes., Sp.F., S.H. Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) apologized to prospective students who took UTBK at ULM. The apology was conveyed by Dr. Iwan to all prospective students, parents, and the community regarding the obstacles that have occurred.

As is well known, the implementation of the first day of UTBK at ULM experienced problems which resulted in the implementation of UTBK at several locations at ULM being delayed. The cause of the obstacles themselves is not known with certainty, but there are several possibilities including differences in applications and systems used from the implementation of the previous year’s SBMPTN, besides that it is known that the size of the question file is relatively larger than before because of additional questions on the Indonesian scholastic and literacy potential tests and English as well as a system for sending data directly (real time) from the participant’s computer to the Central Server.

Similar obstacles are also known to occur in several universities where the UTBK is implemented. Responding to these obstacles, ULM continues to communicate and coordinate with the central committee to make improvements and improvements.
