ULM Holds Study Program Conversion and Acceleration Coordination
Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) is currently entering a period of monitoring and evaluating accreditation ratings (PEPA) where ULM will receive institutional re-accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) in 2024. ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., said that strategic steps need to be taken so that ULM can maintain the accreditation that it currently has.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Iwan Aflanie, dr. M.Kes., Sp.F., S.H. together with the LPM(Lembaga Penjaminan Mutu) and ULM faculty and postgraduate leaders held a coordination meeting regarding the conversion and acceleration of study program accreditation on Monday (3/4/2023) in the Senate Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, ULM Rectorate Building Banjarmasin.
Based on the results of the BAN-PT PEPA assessment and development at ULM on March 19, 2023, ULM had only achieved a score of 2.74. Meanwhile, in order for ULM accreditation to remain at an A or superior grade, ULM needs to achieve a score of 3.25. Regarding this score, Dr. Iwan said that it is normal for dynamics to occur in determining the accreditation score.
There are at least 2 (two) important parameters that must be considered in order to maintain and improve ULM accreditation, namely the percentage of students who graduate on time and the composition of the accreditation rating at the study program level. Based on this, LPM ULM has conducted a mapping where there are around 49 study programs that will become targets in implementing the accreditation acceleration program.
“We have prepared a budget for the acceleration and UTI programs. I am optimistic that these 49 study programs can achieve the target of acceleration and UTI (Conversion Supplement Instrument),” said the Rector of ULM, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc giving a speech.
Head of LPM ULM Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Ahsin Rifa’i, M.Sc., said that in order to avoid degradation of ULM accreditation, commitment and cooperation of all parties within ULM is required.
