Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Public Lecture and Discussion of the “ALDERA” Book Review on Tuesday (21/2/2023) at the Lecture Theater General Building ULM Banjarmasin. Member of the RI BPK (Financial Audit Board) Commission VI, Dr. Pius Lustrilanang, S.IP., M.Sc., CFRA., CSFA was present as the keynote speaker at this event.

This event was attended by hundreds of ULM students with a general lecture agenda and a review of the book “Aldera: Portrait of the 1993-1999 Youth Political Movement”. Professor of Sociology FKIP ULM Prof. Dr. Wahyu, MS., and FISIP ULM lecturer Dr. Taufik Arbain, M.Sc., became a resource person on this agenda. At this moment the Governor of South Kalimantan Dr.(HC) H. Sahbirin Noor, S.Sos., M.H had the opportunity to attend with his staff and other guests.

ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Si in his remarks expressed his appreciation and gratitude for organizing this event. Through holding a public lecture and reviewing the book “Aldera”, it is one of the historical expressions carried out by youth in the context of fighting for the democratization process as a form of struggle carried out by youths from 1993 to 1999.

He hoped that holding this activity would be an opportunity for ULM students as the younger generation to understand the historical trajectory of the youth’s struggles at that time. “Should students as the younger generation understand the historical trajectory of the struggle of the youth at that time, towards achieving a democratization and constitutional process in our country.” said the Rector.

As the oldest campus in South Kalimantan, ULM, which is also known as the “campus of struggle”, Prof. Ahmad expressed the idea of writing a book about the university of struggle. He thought that with this book, the values of struggle were preserved so that they could become motivation for ULM students. “As students, you have to be part of the development implementation process. This is also homework for us to prepare young people who have high integrity to participate in the national development process in the future.” close the Rector.
