ULM Holds a Public Consultation Forum (FKP) with the Indonesian MPR, Becomes the First Campus and Signs the MoU
Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Public Consultation Forum (FKP) event with the Indonesian MPR on Friday (17/2/2023) at the Fugo Hotel, Banjarmasin. FKP is a new program that the MPR RI will implement in 2023 and ULM is selected as the first campus to administer the program.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., was present to welcome the delegation from the Secretariat General of the MPR RI led by Siti Fauziyah, S.E., MM., Acting Deputy for Administration of the MPR RI. Carrying the theme “Urgency of National Character Education Methods in the Millennial Era”, the MPR RI FKP presented 2 (two) speakers namely Indro Gutomo, Head of Reporting and Inter-Agency Relations Section of the General Secretariat of the MPR RI, and Dr. H. Harpani Matnuh, M.H., lecturer in Constitutional Law at FKIP ULM.
This event was attended by students from the Pancasila and Citizenship Education study program FKIP ULM. Dean of FKIP Dr. Chairil Faif Pasani, M.Sc., along with the Deputy Dean of FKIP Prof. Dr. Hj. Atiek Winarti, M.Pd., M.Sc (WD I) and Prof. Dr. Imam Yuwono, M.Pd (WD II) was also present to welcome the MPR RI group.
ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the implementation of FKP activities by the Indonesian MPR, especially for choosing ULM as the first tertiary institution chosen for its implementation. “This is an honor and happiness for ULM.” said the Rector.
On this occasion, ULM also signed an MoU or Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretariat General of the MPR RI. In the MoU which was signed directly by the Rector of ULM and Plt. The Deputy for Administration of the Secretariat General of the MPR RI, Siti Fauziyah, S.E., MM., MPR RI agreed to help improve and develop the abilities of students and other academics at ULM in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and the Independent Learning-Independent Campus program. Through this MoU, Prof. Ahmad hopes that the collaboration that exists between ULM and the General Secretariat of the MPR RI can take place in the long term and is sustainable. The Rector said, “Hopefully in the future the MPR RI can accept our students to carry out internships at the MPR Secretariat General in Jakarta, yes.”
Siti Fauziyah, as Plt. The Deputy for Administration of the General Secretariat of the MPR RI welcomed this. He also conveyed, for students who later did not have the opportunity to take part in the program in Jakarta, they could download the MPR RI Digital Book application on the Playstore. Through this application, students can access not only books, but also magazines, proceedings and other products from the MPR RI. Siti Fauziyah also suggested visiting the website www.mpr.go.id to obtain various information related to the MPR RI.
The Public Consultation Forum (FKP) is an initiation program from the Secretariat General of the MPR RI which will only be implemented in 2023. It is stated that there are 4 (four) programs which will later be implemented in several selected tertiary institutions. The theme of the FKP being held this time was chosen in line with the aim of the General Secretariat of the MPR RI which wants to reintroduce and strengthen national character by using an approach that is suitable for today’s young generation.One of the efforts that have been made by the MPR RI includes digitizing information using the MPR RI Digital Book application and the official website www.mpr.go.id which has been described previously. “Later, don’t just use your smartphone to watch Korean dramas, OK?” he said.
