This activity was held in the ULM Rectorate Hall, floor 1, Wednesday (25/01/20223). The event was also attended by the Vice Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si, Head of Academic and Student Affairs Bureau Dra Hj. Lisna Rahmawati, M.Pd and her staff.
On this occasion, the Rector appointed Ahmad Nurhadi as Chair of BEM ULM and Muhammad Zainal Ilmi as Chair of DPM, as well as 17 other Heads of Student Activity Units at ULM for the 2023-2024 period. It is hoped that this inauguration can make the new chairperson appointed to be able to collaborate more and continue ULM student programs. The Head of UKM who was inaugurated today had previously completed a whole series of election activities from the general election which and is expected to be able to advance, make ULM proud and also encourage all members of the ULM academic community to carry out activities that can support ULM’s Main Performance Indicator (IKU)
In his remarks, the Rector said that the newly appointed UKM heads held the mandate as administrators of the Student Executive Board, Student Representative Council and UKM Management. He said that currently ULM is in a process of organizational change called the transition period from the work unit to BLU.
Then while still in the transition period, ULM was asked to immediately become a PTN-BH. It is hoped that student involvement can realize the highest possible achievements and contribute optimally in order to provide the best for ULM to become an increasingly high performing PTN for 2023 and beyond.
To newly appointed students, the Rector said that the dynamics of campus development in the future will be increasingly challenging for us to work together. One of the most urgent main tasks is how to organize student organizations throughout Lambung Mangkurat University to push forward and develop the process of education, research, and community service within ULM. Second, related to Merdeka Learning and Merdeka Campus which consists of 8 programs, launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, ULM is now preparing the MBKM decision structure starting from the University to the Faculty. So that in this way the programs that the government wants can be realized by Lambung Mangkurat University as well as possible.
The Rector also sees important challenges and issues that must be answered and paid attention to by the ULM academic community, including students. First, we must pay attention to the study period of students in all study programs at ULM. Second, academic responsibility, which is to increase the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA) by identifying students who have a GPA below 2.5 and strategies such as coaching by students who have a GPA above 3 – 3.5 and above. So that you can see how the university is progressing because of the involvement of other students.
