Surabaya – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or memorandum of understanding in order to collaborate with INTI International University Malaysia. The signing of the MoU was held at Surabaya State University on Monday (15/5/2023).

The signing was carried out directly by ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad Alim Bachri, S.E., M.Sc., and Dr. Joseph Lee as Vice Rector of INTI International University Malaysia. The cooperation carried out is related to efforts to internationalize the Free Learning-Free Campus (MBKM) program.

The Rector of ULM said that this collaboration was part of an agreement between the Council of Rectors of Indonesian State Universities (MRPTNI) and INTI International University Malaysia which was facilitated by the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) Kuala Lumpur. As many as 16 PTN members of the MRPTNI including ULM participated in this collaboration.

The collaboration includes organizing student exchanges, comparative studies, developing and implementing joint studies and research, exchanging study and learning materials, participating in seminars, training, and so on.

In short, the scope of cooperation that is carried out is not just student exchange, but also support through affirmative assistance from higher education institutions, organizing international teaching campuses and international community services. The MRPTNI also explained that teacher assistance would be sent to Indonesian schools (CLC) in Malaysia.

CLC or Community Learning Center is an Indonesian community learning center which was formed at the initiative of the local community, especially oil palm plantation companies and local communities in Sabah-Sarawak who are also supported and fostered by the Government of Indonesia.

The collaboration between 16 PTN members of the MRPTNI and INTI International University Malaysia was held at the State University of Surabaya (UNESA) attended by the Chairperson of the MRPTNI Prof. Ganefri, Ph.D., Dr. Joseph Lee as Vice Chancellor of INTI Malaysia, and Rossy Verona as Deputy Ambassador of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
