In his remarks, the Rector hopes that the ULM Student Regiment will actually provide all of the highest support for the achievements that ULM will aspire to and will carry out. Especially in the transitional period that ULM is currently facing, namely the change from a Work Unit (Work Unit) College to a BLU College (Public service agency) is a challenge for ULM to adapt and carry out its responsibilities as a PTN BLU. “This is a challenge for ULM to synergize between academicians within the ULM environment in order to provide the best for the Indonesian people in the world of education, especially for South Kalimantan students.” said the Rector. He also appealed to the ULM Student Regiment and its ranks to become role models for all academics.
Not only that, the Rector of ULM also has high hopes regarding the cleanliness, safety and conduciveness of the campus environment by inviting them to jointly develop programs that can be implemented in synergy in order to provide the best. ULM is currently one of the tertiary institutions in Indonesia that has been given the mandate to become a partner university for a healthy campus environment. ULM should be proud considering that only a few universities are trusted by the Ministry out of 4,000 universities in Indonesia. He also constantly reminded the invitees especially the ULM academic community to jointly maintain a clean, safe and conducive campus environment. “The ULM Student Regiment must work together with all managers and all UKM in the ULM environment as a whole and from disturbances that threaten the unity and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.” Add Rector.
The student regiment or abbreviated as Menwa is one of the civilian forces that has been trained and then prepared, so that its members are able to defend the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia as one of the manifestations of the Universal People’s Defense and Security System or Sishankamrata. As one of the regenerations of fostering young people in the campus environment, students must have an institutional commitment in order to make a real contribution to the development of the nation and state. The presence of a student regiment which is also referred to as a wira at each tertiary institution is a unit that will become a part of the student organization in a student activity unit or UKM on a campus.
