ULM Wins Weaving Competition to Commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of South Kalimantan

Banjarmasin – Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) showed its participation in various activities organized by the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of South Kalimantan Province (Kalsel) in a series of commemorations of the 25th Anniversary of DWP and the 96th Mother’s Day. This event took place on Monday (9/12/2024) at the Mahligai Pancasila Building, Banjarmasin.
The Chairperson of the DWP of South Kalimantan Province, Aminatus Alifah Roy Rizali Anwar, in her virtual remarks, said that this activity aims to hone creativity, artistic skills, and strengthen solidarity between DWP members.
The Nusantara traditional clothing fashion show competition is one of the leading events involving 35 pairs of participants from DWP from various vertical agencies and institutions within the South Kalimantan Provincial Government. The participants were accompanied by the respective DWP chairpersons who read narratives related to the traditional clothing worn.
In the fashion show competition, Lambung Mangkurat University won third place, while the first place was won by the DWP of the South Kalimantan Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the second place was won by the DWP of the PUPR Service.
In addition, there was also a woven rope-based competition which was enthusiastically followed by the participants. This competition was attended by 11 participants from the provincial DWP and 6 participants from the district/city DWP.
In the SKPD category, ULM won first place in the woven rope competition, followed by BMKG in second place, and ESDM in third place. For the district/city category, Batola Regency was crowned the first winner, followed by Tapin and Tanah Bumbu Regencies in second and third places.
Aminatus Alifah also said that the winners of each competition will receive awards in the form of cash, certificates, and trophies as a form of appreciation for the creativity and enthusiasm shown by the participants.
This activity is expected to be a momentum for all DWP members to continue to work, develop talents, and strengthen togetherness for the progress of the organization in the future.
“Hopefully, by holding this event, we can strengthen the friendship that is the basis for the continuity of our organization,” said Aminatus Alifah.
