ULM Holds Workshop and FGD to Discuss PSDKU with Regency Government
Banjarmasin – In order to realize the commitment to continue to improve the equality of education in South Kalimantan, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) plans to open Study Programs Outside the Main Campus (PSDKU) in several regencies.
To finalize the design, ULM held a Workshop and Forum Group Discussion (FGD) PSDKU which was held for two days on 9-10 December 2024 at the Kindai Hotel Banjarmasin.
This activity was attended by ULM Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmad, S.E, M.Si along with stakeholders from Hulu Sungai Tengah, Balangan, and Kotabaru Regencies which will be the locations of ULM in the PSDKU program. Not only that, a number of ULM officials also attended this activity, namely ULM Vice Rector IV Dr. Ir. Yusuf Azis, M.Sc, Secretary of the Senate, and a number of Koprodi within ULM.
ULM’s design for the PSDKU program is believed by Prof. Ahmad as an effort to build better, smarter, and quality human resources. Especially for the sons and daughters of the region who have potential, but have limitations in reaching education in big cities. In fact, they as sons and daughters of the region are the pillars for solving problems in the region and leading them to progress in the future.
“The presence of ULM to open PSDKU in the regencies in South Kalimantan will at least be a driving force to accelerate the increase in the human development index of South Kalimantan as a whole,” said the Rector.
This activity presented a resource person and FGD discussion facilitator, namely Deny Kurniawan, M.Sc, Ph.D., who is also a representative of the Directorate of Institutions of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.
This workshop and FGD are strategic steps taken by ULM to prepare for the operation of 26 study programs to fill the PSDKU spread across 3 different regencies in South Kalimantan.
