This was evident in the presence of Dr. Ali Rachman, M.Pd., a lecturer from the Guidance and Counseling (BK) Study Program at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) ULM, as a resource person at a public lecture at Palangka Raya University (UPR) on Thursday (September 4, 2025).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Ali Rachman delivered a presentation entitled &#8220;Soft Skills for a Brilliant Guidance and Counseling Career: Strategies and Tips.&#8221; He emphasized the importance of non-academic skills, such as communication, empathy, self-management, leadership, and adaptability, for prospective guidance and counseling teachers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Academic knowledge alone is not enough. Soft skills are key to providing effective and meaningful counseling services,&#8221; he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The event, held at the UPR PPIIG building, was attended by faculty and study program leaders. The Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, UPR, Dr. Rinto Alexandro, S.E., M.M., officially opened the event, while the Coordinator of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, Dra. Nonsihai, M.Pd., stated that the material presented by ULM was very useful in motivating students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;This public lecture provides insight and inspiration so that students can develop skills relevant to the world of work,&#8221; he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the presentation of the material, the event also marked the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at ULM and the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at UPR. This collaboration is expected to strengthen academic collaboration, research, and the development of student activities in the field of guidance and counseling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through this synergy, ULM affirms its commitment to play a role not only at the local level but also regionally, by making tangible contributions to strengthening the competencies of prospective guidance and counseling students.
