This program also demonstrated the contribution of ULM FKIP lecturers in supporting government policy through the “Impactful Science and Technology” program.

In his remarks, the Head of the Hulu Sungai Selatan Physics MGMP assessed the event as a strategic step to optimize the role of physics teachers as professional educators.

“The SETS approach is highly relevant because it connects physics to real-world contexts in the environment, technology, and society. Students not only understand theory but are also able to reason and apply science in everyday life,” he said.

The workshop speakers added that implementing SETS can improve critical and creative thinking skills while fostering students’ awareness of global and local issues related to science. Teachers are encouraged to design learning tools that are more contextual, innovative, and in line with developments in educational technology.

The workshop also provides an interactive space for teachers to share experiences, discuss learning challenges, and formulate practical strategies that can be directly implemented in the classroom. Thus, the results of the activities are not limited to concepts but have real implications for teaching practices in schools.

The implementation of this program received funding support from the 2025 Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of the Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) through the Compulsory Lecturer Service Program (PDWA).
