Syamsul Arifin, M.Pd., FISPH., FISCM, emphasized that this activity is a concrete manifestation of the implementation of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology&#8217;s new tagline, &#8220;Impactful Campus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Campuses should not be ivory towers, but must be present to provide solutions for the community. This collaboration is a form of scientific service that is directly felt by the community,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The activity, held at the Village Health Post (Poskesdes) on Bromo Island, is the result of a collaboration between the Medical Sciences Study Program, Doctoral Program, FKIK ULM, and the Banjarmasin City Government. Several specialist doctors were offered to provide healthcare services to residents in areas with limited access to quality medical facilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Head of the Banjarmasin City Health Office, Tabiun Huda, the services provided are not only minor curative services, but also promotive and preventive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;We are bringing in specialists in the heart, lungs, and psychiatry to provide direct consultations with residents. The goal is to prevent disease early and improve the community&#8217;s quality of life,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Mayor of Banjarmasin, Muhammad Yamin HR, who was also in attendance, expressed his appreciation for this collaboration. He considered the presence of specialist doctors from ULM to be very helpful for residents in areas far from the city center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;This is not just a healthcare service, but also a form of social justice and strengthening the relationship between the government, academics, and residents. This is true service,&#8221; said Yamin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The people of Bromo Island enthusiastically welcomed the activity. In addition to direct treatment, residents also received education on healthy lifestyles and provided consultation services as an early prevention measure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof. Syamsul added that the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) of ULM currently has 17 study programs, including eight specialist programs, ready to support the local government&#8217;s health agenda.
