Teluk Tamiang, Kotabaru \u2013 Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held a Milkfish Harvest on Sunday (15\/6\/2025) in Teluk Tamiang Village, Kotabaru Regency. This activity is an important milestone in supporting the utilization of an environmentally friendly and sustainable silvofishery system, as well as a form of ULM’s commitment to empowering coastal communities.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

This activity was attended directly by the Vice Rector II for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, Dr. Ir. Arief Rahmad Maulana Akbar, M.Sc., IPU., Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Muhamad Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Sc., as well as the Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences ULM.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Also present were Plt. Head of the Food Security and Agriculture Service of Kotabaru Regency, Sarawani, S.Pi., MP., and Head of Teluk Tamiang Village, Hendra.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

In his speech, Sarawani expressed his support for this mass harvest activity. He emphasized the importance of clarifying the status of the pond area in Teluk Tamiang so that future development can run optimally.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

“We really welcome this activity and are ready to support the development of ponds in Teluk Tamiang. However, certainty is needed regarding the status of the area. We hope that ULM can help create a map of the area for pond development,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The Head of Teluk Tamiang Village, Hendra, also expressed his gratitude to ULM for the attention and assistance that has been provided. He hopes that ponds that have been inactive for a long time can be revived.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

“The ponds in Teluk Tamiang have been inactive for about 20 years. Hopefully this time they can be productive again and bring benefits to the community,” he hoped.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

This mass harvest was officially opened by Dr. Arief Rahmad Maulana Akbar, who also expressed his appreciation to the milkfish pond management group and the ULM Wetland Environmental Academic Support Unit (UPA LLB).<\/span><\/p>\r\n

“We really appreciate the hard work of the entire team. Hopefully this activity can continue and receive support from the village and district governments, especially in relation to the management of the PBPH Mangrove area which will be managed by ULM,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

This activity is a real example of collaboration between academics, government, and the community in creating sustainable solutions for the coastal environment and economy.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
