The spirit of emancipation inherited by Raden Ajeng Kartini continues to inspire the current generation of women to dare to dream, learn, and work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Prof. Dr. drg. Maharani Laillyza Apriasari, Sp.PM., Professor who also serves as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), Kartini Day is the right time to commemorate the great struggle of a woman in fighting for women&#8217;s rights, especially the right to obtain a decent education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Kartini Day reminds us of the importance of education for women, especially the young generation of Indonesia. This awareness is important to continue to be instilled so that women can contribute optimally in various fields,&#8221; she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Today&#8217;s Kartini: Erasing Gender Boundaries in the Academic World<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Prof.&#8217;s view. Maharani, Kartini&#8217;s struggle remains relevant to the conditions of women today. Women&#8217;s representation in education and academia still needs to be improved. Women must have equal access to opportunities to learn, excel, and have a career\u2014without barriers due to gender, age, or background.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, challenges remain. The patriarchal culture that is still deeply rooted in various regions in Indonesia is a real obstacle for women in pursuing education and careers. Social and cultural inequality often limits women&#8217;s space to develop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Women are still underrepresented in leadership positions. This is a shared responsibility\u2014the government, society, and educational institutions\u2014to create an environment that supports women,&#8221; she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Emancipation in the Digital Era<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the digital era, Kartini&#8217;s spirit has even more outlets. Technology has become a means of empowering women through access to online education, skills training, and social media that opens up space for discussion and participation for women in social, political, and economic issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prof. Maharani emphasized the importance of women actively utilizing technology as a tool of struggle. Starting from self-development, social advocacy, to the protection and safety of fellow women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Inspiration from Home: Mother as a Role Model<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to Kartini, Prof. Maharani has a very close inspirational figure, namely her beloved mother. A lecturer who never stops learning, even taking a doctoral degree at an advanced age.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHer spirit inspired me to continue my education to the doctoral level and finally achieved the position of Professor at the age of 46,\u201d she said with emotion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Message for Female Students: Happiness in the Struggle<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a professor, she gave a meaningful message to female students and the younger generation:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cBecoming a professor is not easy. It requires a long process, Masters and Doctoral education, scientific work, and dedication. However, all of that must be done with a happy heart, honesty, and an unyielding spirit\u2014without forgetting the role as a mother and wife.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to her, educational institutions have a strategic role in supporting gender equality. An inclusive curriculum, fair learning methods, a safe campus environment, and equal leadership opportunities for women are needed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the only female dean at ULM today, Prof. Maharani has proven that women are capable of leading without having to sacrifice the values \u200b\u200bof equality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I am grateful because at ULM, I did not experience discrimination. I can work professionally and receive support from various parties,&#8221; she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Hopes and Messages for the Future<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If given the opportunity to speak directly to R.A. Kartini, she would like to convey one main message: that education is the best investment for women&#8217;s future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Let&#8217;s prioritize quality education to achieve goals and dreams,&#8221; she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And for Indonesian women in the future, her hope is that they will become intelligent, brave, and virtuous individuals\u2014ready to take part in national development and create a brighter future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Happy Kartini Day!<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">May Kartini&#8217;s fighting spirit continue to live in every Indonesian woman\u2014empowered, happy, and inspiring the world.
