Banjarmasin \u2014 The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Lambung Mangkurat University (FKIK ULM) plays an active role in supporting public health through collaboration with the Pensioners Association (PP) RRI Banjarmasin. In order to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of PP RRI, a health check-up activity was held on Sunday (12\/15\/2024) at the Tri Prasetya Auditorium RRI Banjarmasin, involving 7 (seven) resident doctors specializing in internal medicine from ULM.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

This program includes various essential health checks for the elderly. According to dr. Meldy Muzada Elfa, Sp. PD., K-Ger., FINASIM, the examinations carried out include:<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

    \r\n \t
  • Blood pressure screening to detect hypertension.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Handgrip strength measurement, which is an indicator of muscle mass.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Body composition analysis to measure the proportion of muscle, fluid, and fat, carried out professionally by medical personnel.<\/span><\/li>\r\n \t
  • Blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid examinations to detect the risk of diabetes and other metabolic disorders.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\ndr. Meldy expressed her hope that this examination would provide great benefits for retirees. “We hope that this screening can help participants maintain their health and raise awareness about the importance of routine check-ups,” she said.<\/span>\r\n

    This activity was attended by around 50 members of PP RRI Banjarmasin. The Head of the Organizing Committee, Agung Junianto, emphasized that this activity aims to maintain the stability of the health of the elderly. “We hope that all participants can take part in this series of examinations to support their health optimally,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    This program is not only part of the PP RRI Anniversary celebration, but also a real manifestation of community service carried out by ULM. With the involvement of resident doctors from the Department of Internal Medicine, FKIK, this activity reflects ULM’s commitment to improving the quality of public health, especially the elderly.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Through collaborations like this, ULM demonstrates its role as an educational institution that actively contributes to overcoming public health challenges directly and sustainably.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
